The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 82, in partnership with the National Electrical Contractor’s Association (NECA) has adopted a new, flexible career development program that will allow you to:
Based on previous experience, electrical workers may enter the program at one of eight wage levels, with pay equivalent to to experience and training.
How does it work Once your application has been accepted, and drug testing and drug free workplace training has been completed, you will be assigned to a local Signatory Electrical Contractor.
Note that applicants with little or no previous experience, who are interested in becoming Journeymen Wiremen, are highly encouraged, but not required, to apply for entrance into the Apprenticeship program. Apprentices work alongside Journeymen and have regular class hours at the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC). All credits earned through the apprenticeship program can be applied toward a two-year Associates Degree at Sinclair Community College. How can I get started? Application forms are available at:
